Send photos and stories about your dogs to showcase on Ohio Barker!

Ohio Barker is the state’s only online publication devoted to canines and their doting parents. This is your forum, and we invite you to share photos and stories of your dogs!

Here is a photo of Haze, the rescued pit who is the pride and joy of MacKenzie Manley, the founder and owner of Mack’s Tavern in Centerville. MacKenzie invests countless hours to benefit the community with special events to help charities, including a pit bull rescue organization. Last weekend, she hosted a doggie Valentine’s photo day to raise money for Adopt A Pit. You can follow Mack’s Tavern Facebook page for occasional posts about Haze and Adopt A Pit activities. During warmer months, Mack’s is a place where patrons can hang out on the patio with their dogs. Haze is even known to make appearances.

Haze is the beloved pit who calls MacKenzie Manley mom.

Around 85 million American homes, or 67 percent, own a pet, according to the 2019-2020 National Pet Owners Survey conducted by the American Pet Products Association.  In the United States, there are approximately 83.3 million pet dogs. Almost half (46 percent, to be exact) of all households own at least one dog.

We can post an array of additional statistics about the millions of dollars that Americans spend on their dogs, and how studies show that our canine friends reduce stress, ease loneliness, help endure challenging life events, and make our happiest days even brighter, but most dog owners already know this first-hand.

We created Ohio Barker as an online destination to celebrate our best friends. We will publish stories about dogs and their owners and cover health and wellness, lifestyle, and travel and leisure topics centered around dogs in Ohio. We invite your story ideas and submissions, photos, and suggestions.

If you would like to reach dog owners in Ohio, feel free to give us the opportunity to share the sponsorship opportunities that are available. If you are a veterinarian, trainer, groomer or any other dog-related specialist and would like to contribute articles, please don’t hesitate to email us. We’re glad you are visiting our site, and we invite you to become a regular!
